This week I lost .... 3 lbs!
So, my husband put me in my place last night. He asked me how often I am posting and if I am blogging my food as well as exercise. Obviously I have not been. I started thinking ... "this has got to be really boring for the people who read this!" But as Brian pointed out to me, though there are people reading my blog, the main purpose for it is for me to be completely accountable to myself as well as any readers. So ... I will go back to posting my food and exercise daily. :) Luck you! :) lol
I have changed things in my diet a little bit. I was watching Biggest Loser this week and one of the trainer's tips that Jillian gave was that you should mix things up in your diet. Her suggestion is that you have 2 days a week that you have a very low caloric intake, 3 days that are moderate and 2 days that you give yourself a little bit of a break. The theory is that for 1, it confuses your body so that it does not go into that survival mode of hanging on to fat because it thinks you are starving and 2, helps you stick with it so that you don't constantly feel deprived. So, I used that method this week and I had great results with a 3 lb. weight loss.
I have been enjoying being more physically active and it is wearing off on my husband and kids too. My husband has actually lost 8 lbs. in the time that I have been doing this. Mostly because he is physically active ALL day at his job, but also that I am cooking healthier meals. He probably could have lost about 20 lbs. by now, but he has been eating ice cream every night! Men and their metabolisms! So not fair! :)
I am more focused on making sure that my kids are physically active as well. I invited my 7 yr. old daughter to do some Tae bo with me, her response was, "Why would I exercise? I am already skinny!" Obviously I have set a bad example for my kids letting them think that exercise is only for weight loss. So we have been focusing more on being active. We have been doing a lot of bike rides and this week we went to the park and had a picnic (Subway sandwiches) and played basketball as a family. I also told my kids that they each needed to decide on a sport that they want to get involved with. I don't care if it is basketball, volleyball, baseball or badminton (spelling?) etc. but I want each of them to have something to do that is active.
Well, here's to another good week and a better week as far as being accountable and blogging is concerned! Thanks for reading !
