03/24

So, I haven't posted for a few days, so I figured it is time to catch up a little bit! :) Things are going okay this week. This cold is still hanging on and sapping quite a bit of my energy, however, I have still been able to work out every day, just not as much as I would like to. I am also still having some issues with my knee. I am going to try a knee brace tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

Tomorrow is my husband and my anniversary :) 6 years of pure bliss! :) We are going on a date tomorrow night, so I am allowing myself a little bit of a cheat since we are going out to dinner. I still plan on being careful, but I think we are going to Aunt Chiladas, so it might be a little bit difficult.

Biggest Loser is doing an open casting call in Mesa on Saturday. I am considering going and putting in an application. Not sure what I would do with my 5 kids if it ever ended up that I made it on. But that is so far from reality at this point, I shouldn't worry about it. :)

  1. As someone who's doing the big diet AGAIN in her life i've found that i've learnt one basic thing with "diets". That the faster that you try and lose it - most of the time with the latest "special" diet - the faster it just piles back on again when you find that you can't maintain it. The best thing that you can do for yourself is to just eat healthy food, cut back on your portion sizes and exercise 3 to 4 times a week for about 45 mins. If you do that the weight will come off gradually and but it will be more of a lifestyle change than a diet and you'll find that it will be more likely to stay off.
Don't freak out about going out to dinner - skinny people eat out too and pig out aswell. the only difference is that they don't do it all the time like, well, ME! As long as you're eating well - which you're doing - and keep up the exercise regularly - which you're doing - it's going to come off and its going to stay off.
Who want's to live in a world where we can't eat chocolate or go out to dinner anyway?! Not me!

  2. Yeah, you are 100% right and that is what I am realizing. I have tried about every fad diet in existence and none of them have worked long term for me. I am just very impatient and I want to see results and see them quickly. I want to hurry and fit into my "other wardrobe"! I know that it needs to be an overall change for my family. That is why this time I am trying to take some of our favorite recipes, for instance, and making them more healthy, so that I don't have to always eat something different than what the family is eating and everyone is getting healthier (my hubby has lost 5 lbs since I have been doing this also). And we are going on family bike rides and walks etc. Those are the changes that I am most proud of because it is not only helping me but all 7 of us! :) Thanks for your comment and your support, I really do appreciate it!
